Q. Is now a good time to buy a car?

Are prices good right now?

1) Car shortages means prices are still going up.

2) There are new Government fees coming in on 1 January 2023.

3) Inflation isn't finished yet.

The answer is YES for at least 12 months. The good news is our exchange rate is holding up OK against the Japanese Yen (don't worry we manage that).

What is good value?

No extra charges! Traditional dealers charge extra for On Road Charges, 12 months warranty (MBI), 12 months rego, 12 months WOF and $100 fuel.

Can I get a good deal on finance?

We work with finance providers to get you the best deal. New lending rules have made finance difficult. As the OCR goes up, so do finance rates.

What about availability?

In NZ it's limited to what dealers buy. Autoport has hundreds of authorised suppliers in Japan and the UK that traditional dealers don't have access to.

Our 14,000 cars are from dealers who supply the auctions, so we avoid auction costs, and exporter and admin fees that are usually included.

What about my trade-in?

Car shortages in NZ mean trade-in values for quality cars are still going up. We work with wholesalers who give us their best price.

We don't hold trade-ins for stock like traditional dealers. That means we pass on the best price we can for your trade-in.

What's the "in-between" car?

It's the car you buy when the car you want is not available or is a year away from delivery. It's a new consideration with car shortages happening.
